We just got back from Nuevo Vallarta and I sat through an "update meeting" as they euphemistically called it. Supposedly not a sales meeting to pitch an upgrade. It lasted about 4 hours, but we were treated very well and did learn a few things, if we can believe what we were told.

1.) Phase 1 is "scheduled" to open in the park in February 2022. That isn't exactly news, but supposedly the gondolas (aka cable cars) should be finished by end of summer and there will be three Cirque du Soleil shows. The main show might be a water based show in a 600 to 800 seat theater. The other two are much smaller CdS productions of some sort. But these three acts are to open by Christmas 2020.

2.) To ride the gondola one must pay a "nominal" fee. But it will be free to those that purchased an entertainment package. Every other gondola will have a glass bottom.

3.) The Mayan Palace pool is gone forever and will be replaced by a RM similar Beach Club and Salum. The Costa Arena restaurant will reopen.

4.) Those that choose to stay in a hotel near the park will have their own facilities and will have no rights to any of the other NV pools, (restaurants?) or beach palapas. However, those folks will be permitted to go to the beach since beach access is public. This is supposedly in response to complaints from owners about park guests crowding already crowded pools, etc.

5.) The "train to nowhere" currently at the Residence Club check-in area will provide alternate transportation to the park (for those too scared of the cable cars.)

6.) Those folks that bought in the park preconstruction will be able to reserve their registered week(s) either in the park or at a sister resort. Those folks that buy later will be restricted to staying only in a park hotel unit they actually purchased for their registered week(s).

7.) Vidanta will construct another hotel group called Imperial Gardens across the street.

You guys know the drill. Who actually knows how much of this is true, plus everything is always changing, and maybe I misunderstood what was said over the course of a 4 hour meeting. And, of course, they eventually pitched me an upgrade and/or an additional purchase into the Imperial Gardens.

Hi Structure Guy ,
Thank you for a good summary .
We too did a Feb 2020 presentation and had an overall good experience .

IMO Vidanta feels proud of what they have accomplished and where they are going ; and while the Vida Sales Machine is designed & engineered to produce sales - it is increasingly using their product to set the stage .

I did get an update on the cruise ship . It is apparently in Mazatlan getting a further upgrade so that the cabins and on-board experience will meet ownership's vision . The cruise booking window should start fall 2020 .

After being blasted out at the NV MP this past January with booming bass until the middle of the night, this could be the last "straw" for me going to the NV MP.

I don't have an upcoming stay at Vidanta NV until Thanksgiving so I haven't been keeping an eye on the theme park construction, but there is a construction industry newsletter that provides updates. It's interesting to see the concepts and the progress.

We are heading down to the Grand Mayan (NV) through RCI for Spring Break this year.
Is an Update the same as the Sales Presentation?
Since we are using RCI (via Wyndham) we are not really interested in buying or updating, but if my wife and I can get something out of it (room upgrade, discounts, etc) for our 1.5 - 3 hrs of time is it worth it? Are there questions we should be asking for others here?

I am new here and hope I don't annoy anyone. I bought Hotel: Celebrate Park Nuevo Vallarta Master Room Deluxe on 4/18 and have yet to use it. Since it hasn't been built yet I can use the sister resorts and gives the Mayan Palace Master room as an alternative. So you are saying there is no pool there now? And what are our choices, as of now, for pool and resort or Hotel stays? Thanks!

Based on TUG posts - If you are currently staying at Mayan Palace Nuevo V. you are (for now) allowed to use the Grand Bliss pool next door and the Grand Mayan pool .

The MP - NV building has about* 100 units.
* ( master room + 1 bedroom = 2 bedroom / all units are lock offs)

- so adding 200 -300 guests to these pools in a resort footprint that can hold about 5000 is unlikely to be a problem .

@StructureGuy in the above post has said a new MP pool will be built as part of the next cycle of upgrades
to Vidanta NV . The pool that is now closed was oversized for the number of guests who were limited to only that pool,(because it was built when the NV property had more MP buildings ). We used it in Nov. 2019 and met Grand Luxe members there who liked the proximity to the beach and the ease of finding seating .

The shuttle system will take you to the other pools if you prefer not to walk .

In May 2021 I agreed to purchase a second Vidanta timeshare, this one a 2BDRM 3 bath at Imperial Gardens in Nuevo Nayarit, while I was vacationing in Puerto Penasco. A few months earlier, while in Nuevo Nayarit the sales representative pointed at the location of Imperial Gardens, while we were in the gondola. I thought it would be located just East of MEX-200, the highway between Vallarta and Tepic. When I returned in April 2023, I was told for the first time the project will be located on the far East-side of Phase 2, 9 miles from the beach. There are no cranes or other evidence of any construction at Imperial Gardens, and it is unlikely Phase 2 will open at anytime during the next 20 years, as it is much larger than Phase 1, which still has not opened. I believe Vida Vacations has been far from honest with me, describing the location of the resort. I believe owners should receive precise grid map coordinates, prior to purchasing. I also believe potential owners should receive architectural renderings of the resort, with all it's amenities. All I was provided was a floor plan, so I don't know the number of units on each floor, the number of stories in the building, or the total number of buildings in the project.

Hi @Paul E Morgan ,
You best option(s) are :

1) to read your contract for Vidanta Imperial Gardens and find the internal exchange grid to existing Vidanta Brands for this contract.
It could list Sea Garden-Mayan Palace-Bliss / Grand Mayan-Grand Bliss- or perhaps even a 2 bedroom Grand Luxxe.

2) Determine the usage fee to book a specific unit / brand / size. You may need to call customer service ro get the specific dollar amount.

3) Consider - a conversation with Vidanta Member Services regarding your Imperial Garden concerns and issues.

4) FYI- Since about 2020 Vidanta has been pre-selling Imperial Jungle Aqua ($ 20K-ish/ 2 bedroom) and Grand Imperial Jungle Aqua ($40K-ish)
The planned NV location is close to the beach in the proximity of the NV Estates location. There are existing TUG Mexican Forum threads on these planned Vidanta brands.
