The reviews are from 2006. It was a Gold Crown for a long time. Then it dropped to to Hospitality. I see it has been to its Gold Crown status. Has anyone been there recently? Did work go on at the resort that someone could share? Thanks.:)

A number of years ago, I was staying down the road at the Santa Barbara, and I stopped by here and had a look. I was curious because of the perfect 10 rating and glowing reviews that it had on TUG. It is an older small resort on the beach. The maintenance, units, and layout did not impress me all that much. It is definitely not a gold crown resort. Perhaps someone who owns there will respond- it may be the seemingly fierce loyalty shown in the reviews reflects aspects that a quick visit wouldn't reveal, such as responsive management or a great owners group.

We stayed there a couple of years ago. The place was very uneventful. Absolutely no activities or arranged trips or tours. The location was the only thing it had going for it in my opinion. I understand there was hurricane damage since I was there so maybe some of the rooms got refurbished. I wondered at the time how it managed to garner a gold crown rating. I guess to some people if they have a beach they are '10' type happy. Most of the rooms have only a sideways view of the ocean.

We stayed there a couple of years ago. It's a totally sold out "homey" resort....the same people come there every year. We were there at Thanksgiving and some people had been coming there for 20+ years and had their grandkids there.

You are correct...it's nothing special, but we really enjoyed it and would not hesitate to go back. The people who work there are fantastic...they've worked there for a long time too.

They treated my four-year old like their own. They have tons of beach toys, etc. They have a little pond and the maintenance guy let her feed the fish with him every day. It was a very pleasant, relaxing time.
