HOW TO VERIFY IF A TIMESHARE RENTAL IS LEGITIMATE

TIMESHARE RENTAL VERIFICATION CHECKLIST!
- Talk to the owner on the phone - get a feel for who they are.
- Rent from a TUG member(and verify how long they have been a member)
- Ask the owner to email or Fax you a copy of their original reservation confirmation
- Ask the owner to set it up with the resort so you can call and confirm the reservation
- Ask if you can pay a small deposit, get the confirmation in your name, and then pay the Balance
- Ask the owner to send you a copy of their deed, with their address blacked out.
- Ask for references from previous rentals
- Request a signed (or notarized) rental contract
- Only use a method of payment you are comfortable with (and it is suggested to avoid any payment method that provides no recourse or refunds under any circumstances)
