The very first thing to do is to make a shiny foil hat for your head...
That protects you from alien mind control telling you to press in the tabs.

This article was not mind-blowing, but "I did not know that." Thank you, Richard for a piece of trivia that will stick with me forever.

Where have I been? Look what I have been missing out on. I never knew this. Just tried it, it works!

Yep. Didn't the TUG community already discuss this little 'secret' a few years back? (Sigh, sorry. I'm too lazy right now to do the search.)

I think I knew about it, but don't think I've ever done it. But then, I'm also not one to get all winky with a roll of foil, enough to send it flying across the room, or whatever. I've just always held my thumb on the folded box lid to keep the roll inside the box. These end tab things will help, I suppose.

And add me to the "my mind wasn't blown" group. :D

Not an issue for me with aluminum foil, but I’ll have to try it out with plastic cling wrap. That stuff usually gets the better of me by sticking to itself....

I already use the little 'push-in' tabs, so this was not exactly mind-blowing, but I use Glad Press-n-Seal instead of cling wrap. Much easier to use, seals better, doesn't stick to itself unless you press them together.

Duh, I wasn’t thinking. Just did it on my plastic wrap too. So much easier.

I have learned something new today. Thank you!

We always buy it at Costco - the big box. I looked, the roll has plastic gadget inside on each side that already holds the roll.

This is good to know though for sure for the smaller boxes.

We like STRETCH TITE for our plastic wrap.

The article said it would blow my mind. It didn't. Can I get a refund? :p

Not mentioned is that you can make a really nice shiney hat.

Just checked the aluminum foil box we have open and there are no push tabs on the ends.

The store brands we have do not have push-tabs.
OTOH, some brand-name boxes have tiny instructions on the tab.

Making a tinfoil hat was the first thing that came to my mind, too, when I saw the title but before I read the article!!! A very practical and important suggestion, IMO.  :alien:
