For those that have seen the new George Clooney film---

I just saw it today and of course loved all of the Kauai scenes. I recognized Lihue airport, Princeville and The Tahiti Nui, but can anyone tell me what beach they are driving by just before they turn to look at their land, where their land is and at what hotel they are staying at? Also which beach Brian's rental house is at. Thanks!

Great movie. I believe the beach that is visible just before the Jeep turns is Kealia Beach, just north of Kapaa. The actual property they go view is on the private Kipu ranch on the south shore, where they stand and look at Kipu Kai beach. The Kipu ranch, will actually revert to the state of Hawaii, at some point in the future - similar to the land trust in the movie. The owner deeded it to the state in 1977, after all of his nieces and nephews are deceased. The cottage on Hanalei Bay is the Wilcox estate, I think. I think they stayed in the Princeville St. Regis (both in the movie and while filming the movie). The film crew stayed at WPORV.

I loved the movie! It was a great story but all the Hawaiian scenes were an extra special bonus.

Grrr.... I wanted to see this movie the weekend it came out (I have already read the book) but it's in limited release and no where near where I live........

yeereid,

What city did you see it in?

Stressy-I saw it in Aliso Viejo. It opened in LA a week earlier and OC got it last week. Try to see it!

I plan on seeing it tonight or tomorrow here in San Diego.

Just saw this yesterday. Don't know which was more fun to look at, the Hawaiian landscape, or George Clooney. :D Ahhh, it would have to be Hawaii.

We haven't been to Kauai in years, but much of it did look familiar. In fact when they were on the beach we recognized the pier as one our then 10 year old dd decided to jump off of.
