Thanks to that tip, I downloaded OpenOffice For Mac.

I am happy with the Mac Mini I've been using for several months now in all respects except its word processing software. MS Word For Mac & AbiWord both fall way short of WordPerfect, which I had been using at work & at home since 1989 -- starting with version 2.0 & progressing right on up to version 12 or so before I gave up on Windows & went with Mac Mini.

I'm optimistic about the word processing software included with OpenOffice. Even if it doesn't measure up to WordPerfect, it looks at 1st glance like a big improvement over MS Word For Mac & AbiWord.

We'll see, eh ?

Meanwhile, I need to go back to that free software web site & see if they have something for Mac that works like MS Money or Quicken for keeping my personal checking account all squared away month by month.
