Doesn’t work for me. I see Babe Ruth on page one but when I click next it goes to a list of TV shows that were renewed.

Hi RX8,

You saw the end of the list - they started with #25 - Derek Jeter

I only got to see 1 also (Babe Ruth). Really that's all I need to see. There is absolutely no argument that Ruth is the greatest hitter. After Ruth you could argue who the next 24 are and in what order. As the article mentioned, Ruth was also a lights-out pitcher. The only guy that is somewhat close to Ruth is Ohtani, and he has a long way to go.

Okay I saw the whole list. I was pleasantly surprised that Joey Votto was on there. I've always been a Votto fan. I think he is sometimes under appreciated. My only disagreement is Ted Williams being #3. I would put him #2.

I don't agree with any list that has Pete Rose at #20. He had more hits than anyone in history and made the most with the talent that he had.

As the article says the analytic watchers. And his lifetime BA was only .303. One could argue that number 20 may be too low, but where should he be ranked? Certainly not in the top 5. If they were ranking him for his overall performance during his career, he would be ranked much higher, for as you say he made the best of his ability. For that I applaud him. In his 20+ seasons the only positions he didn't play were C, SS, P, and I believe CF. Of course, native Clevelanders hate him because of his collision with Ray Fosse in the AS game.

I'm not a fan of the new analytics. Pete Rose was one of the hardest players to get out, especially in clutch situations. He hit the ball to all fields and had a knack for finding an open space. He also consistently lead the league in doubles because he always took the extra base. I would have him in the top 10. Votto is a great hitter and his numbers would be better if he'd stayed healthy during his prime. I'm beginning to get a little concerned that he is playing too long and his lifetime average will suffer, similar to Pete's. Joey will make a great baseball analyst when he retires.

I wouldn't include Barry Bonds on this list. Prior to juicing up, he was an average hitter who struck out a lot. I remember he played poorly for the Pirates in the playoffs vs the Reds. I'm also not a fan of Ramirez.

Two other major omissions are Ken Griffey Jr and Albert Pujois. Both are better than Ramirez or Frank Thomas and they did it with their natural abilities.
