Most of these areas are way past prime color already. It was about 2 weeks early this year, maybe due to the major drought we are having. The Lakes Region still is not at peak but I think the colors here are not as vibrant as usual, again maybe due to the very hot summer we had plus the drought- don't know.

Up north though, I was lucky to be able to see the foliage at peak and it was incredible. Also in northern Vermont- spectacular.

The areas in mentioned in the article are beautiful but really the whole state is.

We go to Connecticut and Maine every October. It's disappointing that most of Maine seems to be past peak already. I don't know about CT but I think they have already had the peak foliage. It's so hard to time it just right unless you live there.

So true. We live in vermont and the colors have been magnificent but early. I feel sorry for the tourists this year as the best is already over.
