Hi,
Have been looking for a Wyndham resale and was wondering if there would be any availability for BC in a 2 bedroom deluxe 11/17-/11/24, by the time I find something and close on it. What do you think of I find something by the end of the month and start the process?

Let me clarify slightly. There is nothing I can see that is showing as available but I don't have presidential reserve access. If you find someone who has PR, you may be able to rent a reservation from them or if you find a PR contract resale but that would be 1 million + points and I don't know for certain that there are any PR rooms available.

You might be able to get an EXCHANGE through RCI if you set up an ongoing search now. Wyndham deposits quite a bit into RCI and they seem to do it fairly consistently rather than just depositing their lowest demand weeks. I could be wrong, though.

Just checked. One BR presidential reserve units starting 11/16 or 11/18. That's it at Bonnet Creek.

2BR Deluxe and 2BR Lockoffs at Star Island, starting F, Sat, or Sun. Same for Cypress Palms.

OIRC has at least one 2BR deluxe unit for your dates.

Oh no! I had no idea I would need this much notice for BC! I guess I need arp for this holiday? I was under the impression that it was so large that there was no arp needed. Does each line item above indicate 1 unit available, I.e. how many 2 bedrooms are available today?

I did check rci extra vacations (my MIL's acct), there are a few things available, all over $1000, will they stay that price as we get closer? My husband is afraid of renting from someone.

You may not need ARP to get it but it doesn't mean it sticks around for long. There may have been something available at 10 months out at 7 am on the website. As for the extra vacations if you want one I would book it now but I didn't see anything for that week. Those don't stay around for very long either. Now if you are looking for something on either side of that week there is a lot of inventory.

I have wondered about that myself. Do not know. This is not a sales pitch nor do I know the posters. But both are reqular contributers to TUGS and if they have anything available, they would be OK.

When I said there was availability in rci extra vacations- it was thru my MIL's rci weeks acct, there were a few vistana's and orange lake's plus some others I am not familiar with. So I take it that the rci portal thru wyndham has different inventory?
Also, if we are planning on staying thanksgiving week most of the time, and I book right at 10 month mark, would it be ok to buy at any Wyndham, I.e. what are my chances of getting 2 bed deluxe at 7:00 am at 10 months?

I'm afraid not. Wyndham does not hold inventory in reserve to bank. If the owners book it between 10 months and the time at which that period is deposited, then it won't be deposited. If you look at past bulk sightings, you'll notice that holiday weeks are often never deposited, nor are the "hard to get" resorts during prime time.

I just purchased at Wyndham Sea Gardens, and I was able to book, a 2BR at Bonnet Creek this Thanksgiving at the 10 month window for 112000 points. I was actually a day late when I went to look and there were at least 10 2 BR's available and probably twice as many 1 BR's. It appears to me (although admittedly with few data points) that as long as you are diligent at the 10 month window you can 1 and 2 bedrooms (that is all I was looking for anyway).

If you know that you will always be traveling Thanksgiving and want to be absolutely certain especially if you need a larger unit 3 or 4 BR, then I agree you should look to get something at Bonnet Creek for the ARP.

Great to know you were able to get it at 10 months! Thanks to all for your input on this. I think I know the answer to this, but is there a wait list if they don't have what you want? Also does BC require full week stays during thanksgiving? Or can I just book whatever I want, like 3 days, for instance?

There are a couple of 4 days starting the Saturday before Thanksgiving in 1, 2, 3 bedrooms. There are also stays of 4 days starting the day after Thanksgiving.

Actually that week is not peak so you can book from 2 to 7 days. Peak travel time its 3, 4 or 7 days this, is for all Wyndham resorts.

go to EBAY and bid on Wyndham points - you should be able to get something there - you won't have any VIP Status only the use of the points. I would recommend buying at least 224,000 points.

Thanks for the correction, Brian! I guess I've never looked at WBC during peak times. Every bulk banking I've ever looked closely at (we typically only travel off season) included all weeks.

Wyndham is suppose to see the same inventory in RCI as everyone else. There is probably plenty of inventory in Orlando for that week just not at bonnet creek. Cypress palms and star island both still have inventory. I thought you were looking specifically for BC, so that is why I posted there was nothing available either internally or through RCI.

Some holidays have shown up at Bonnet, others haven't. It really depends on the booking patterns. Typically, Wyndham doesn't deposit anything at all until 6-10 weeks *after* the owners have had open season on booking it. So, anything that tends to disappear quickly in that first month or so won't make it to RCI.

Thanksgiving at Bonnet is one of those times, in part due to a quirk in the Orlando-area point charts. The older three have the "old chart"---in which Thanksgiving falls during High season. The newer two have a "new chart"---in which Thanksgiving falls during Value season. In other words, during Thanksgiving, Bonnet Creek units are actually *cheaper* in terms of points than the older and less desirable resorts. So, it goes very very fast. Something similar happens with Easter if the lunar calendar floats the holiday later in the spring.

The other one that tends not to show up is Week 52 (and maybe 51 depending on exactly how dates fall) but that's just because Week 52 in Orlando is crazy insane.
