Hi all,

I just wanted to say thanks for the outstanding forum. My wife and I were in Charleston SC last weekend and ended up walking away with a Bluegreen TS. This is not something that I had ever even thought of until we stumbled into a sales pitch. I will start off by saying through this forum and Bluegreen Owner Yahoo Grp we have decided to rescind our contract and save over $12,000, they just received my letter today. I must say the sales team was outstanding, really nice folks and REALLY good at their jobs. Before this weekend I didn't even know what a timeshare really was. Over the past week I have read these forums and several other sources for HOURS. I am absolutely interested in timeshares and will pursue purchases in the near future and may even buy from a developer as well but I am armed with a much better idea of how to do it now. Absolutely going to purchase some resale as soon as I get a little more knowledge on the ins and outs. I will probably even start with Bluegreen since what I have read they are actually a reputable TS company if used correctly. Anyways to cut this short, thanks a million for all your input. It is read by a lot more than you can imagine, I am only one of I'm sure thousands that have taken something from here.

Happy new forum member

Over the short number of years since I found this forum and started learning, my extended family has surely benefitted greatly by my ownership.

My first out of state and my first family trip was to host all my siblings and their spouses (no kids) for a 4+ night extended weekend. I booked, I invited and I gave no option to NOT ATTEND. ALL flew thousands of miles to an unknown Florida beachfront resort (one spouse had to stay home with the minor 3 boys). It was a blazing success - after years of sick parents, nursing homes, hospitals and finally multiple funerals of the members of our elder generation.

Other group trips started to happen - national park exploration with the younger generation (not TS), my taking individual trips with my nieces and nephews (yes, timeshares), individual sibling trips with some of the siblings (Chicago, Vegas, NYC timeshare vacations) and even a few local 2 night trips with an elderly aunt (TS).

Yes, I figured out buying resale timeshares BEFORE any retail purchases. And I had a "plan" in buying by my second purchase. And I have timeshares I am not planning on keeping for much longer ... but I am not the same person I was several years ago either. Life changes and I have changed, too.
