Just returned from two weeks in Sedona; one week in a Junipine condo in Oak Creek Canyon and one week in a Sedona Summit timeshare suite where our son and daughter-in-law joined us. Before going I went through all the Sedona restaurant threads and came up with a list of restaurants. It was our guide and everyone appreciated it. Your opinions were right on. It made dining so much easier. I’ve put the list below for anyone else who is interested. Our comments are at the end in italics. Again, thanks for the info it was a great help.

Black Cow Caffe - for some excellent ice cream and pies; 229 N Hwy 89A
Mexican Oaxaca Restaurant & Cantina – not good
Café Javelina Cantina – not good
Judi's Restaurant & Lounge - some of the best ribs and homemade desserts; 40 Soldier's Pass Road the ribs were good
Elote Cafe – very good; homemade chocolate ice cream, homemade blackberry ice cream; cuisine of Mexico; 5pm Tu-Sat; 771 State Route 179 excellent Mexican high end food
Dan's Bistro - steaks were fantastic. Plus reasonable corkage ($5) so you can bring your own bottle of wine. I had a beef dish in puffed pastry that I would get again. I also enjoyed part of my wife's steak which melted in my mouth; 1650 W Ste Rte 89A Suite 4D; 928-282-0744 had a very nice lunch

Cucina Rustica – very good; Italian; 7000 State Route 179, Oak Creek; 928-284-3010 we were kind of neutral on this one
Silver Saddle at the Cowboy Club – good; 241 N St Rte 89A very good; buffalo flank steak was excellent; interesting appetizer with buffalo, rattlesnake, and prickly pear fries
PJs Village Pub – good, less pricy; 40 W Cortez #7
The Hideaway – good, less pricy; Italian; 251 Hwy 179; 928-282-4204
Hitching Post Restaurant – diner on Main St; 269 N State Rt 89A just OK

I remember when we took our trip to Sedona we took a ride up to the town of Jerome. This is an interesting town to visit. We had lunch at the 'HAUNTED HAMBURGER'. This is a small place and opens at 11 AM and you need to be there when it opens because after that there is a waiting line. Enjoy your trip.

Is the Coffee Pot still around? We really enjoyed that for breakfast.

We liked the two Cantinas and Oak Creek Brewery and Grill.

One of the locals recommended DQ as having one of the best bbq sandwiches around. We gave it a try - it was pretty good................

On the subject of food, there is a place in town that makes great balsamic vinegarette and olive oil. They will ship.
