Here's one hot off the presses:
"number of job openings was little changed at 7.4 million on the last business day of September, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today."
And the data: "Jobs openings decreased in September to 7.44 million from 7.86 million in August." (the orig August # was > 8.0 M)
Anybody think that a monthly change of -5.33% qualifies as "little changed" in this kind of data? That is your math (aka STATISTICS) question for today.
So, got "math skills"? You may be the only one in the year 2024 who does, and if you do, they'll only get in the way of understanding 80% of what you see and read in daily life. There's more, but ....

I gave this math problem to some high school students and some cashier workers at a major retail chain and not a one could solve this problem.
