I have a reservation coming up the end of March at SDO. I have never been there, so I am wondering what I should request as far as view, building, etc. We have a one bedroom premium reserved. Also looking at things to do in the area.

Here is the resort map.

While this is one of my favorite resorts, there aren't really any "view" units here. My main considerations would be how far do you want to be from the main pool and do you want an elevator?

I personally would avoid buildings 1, 10 and 11 as there will be a high volume of traffic around these areas and border Hayden Road. If you want an elevator then building 7 and 8 will be your only options to avoid stairs if you aren't placed on a ground floor.

Personally I've liked staying in building 8 (units 1073-1080) this time of year as the balconies have a southern exposure so you can get a bit of sun. They are reasonably close to the pool but far enough away that it isn't too noisy.

You will need a car for this resort. There really isn't much within walking distance, but there of course is great shopping, hiking and other activities to take part of in Scottsdale.

It's one of our favorite locations - mainly for the pool area which our kids love. The resort is small enough that you can get to know the staff well and don't feel like you have to hike to get to your unit from the parking lot.

Thank you. We will request building 7 or 8 because we need an elevator. We will be renting a car at the airport as we plan on doing some touring around the area.

By the way, I heard SDO will have some renovations this year, starting in March. Anyone know what is being done, and how much noise there might be?
