Typically Taos in April highs are in the low 60's, lows in the 30's. There can be snow, but usually very little, if any. We live in Santa Fe, which is lower, and I keep my snow tires on until mid-May. Some years I need them until then, some years I don't.

I should have asked what you meant by dicey. Too cold? Or not enough snow to ski?

My sister and brother in law were supposed to come visit in April this year. That didn't happen. Good thing it didn't as we had a huge snow dump one of the days they were going to be here. The snow was gone by the next day, but it still would have knocked a day out of their trip. Also, it can be windy in April. I mean, we live here and we just go with the flow of the weather. I'm not sure you could pick a month when there might not be some unexpected thing happen.

Sadly, our skiinng days are over, Luanne. Too cold for outdoor activities, perhaps even golf, is what I am concerned about. Now my new thinking is to spend week one beginning mid-April in the Ruidoso area before venturing north to Taos. Great article about Santa Fe in our local newspaper's travel section today- we might just have to re-visit your lovely city if our trip comes to fruition!

RCI Feedback did email me that my 38 TPUs for our cancelled Paris exchange next month have been returned to my account, but alas they are not showing. I tried calling before they closed yesterday and was on hold for 30 minutes before being connected which was unconnected before a rep said a word! But the survey asking about my experience came through. UGH!
