I am considering buy a Timeshare at the tahiti village. I am looking at a few E-Bay sellers listng them. 1 bedroom/1 bath annual usage, red 1-51 week. I live a few hours to Vegas and go there regularly. The one week would be nice and a discount for owners to pay for additional stays is also a bonus (over booking at a major hotel). Any thoughts good or bad? Thanks.

Always buy where you plan to use.

The rules that are repeated regularly:

Join TUG for the best advice

Always buy where you plan to use

Always buy resale - really LOOK and/or wait for the "great deal"

Make sure you can afford an on-going $ committment

Learn how to enjoy it (whether that includes eventually trading or renting)

HAVE A GREAT TRIP!

Some resorts treat resale owners differently call the resort and verify what you would be entitled to.

Thanks, membership was on its way. Yes I am 40 years old and make 4-5 trips to Vegas yearly. I live close and plan on going for a long time. I attended a Timeshare deal there a few years ago and had enough common sense to say "NO". I really like the property and am interested in purchasing resale, the reason I am here doing my homework.

Has anyone had issues with resale owners being treated differently? Anyone else with ownership experience at this property to lend some views. Thanks.

How does the resort even know who is a resale buyer and who bought from the developer? Everyone is the same as far as perks is concerned.

I think Tahiti Village would be a good fit for the OP at the right price.

We own at this resort and have had no problems. We like the fact that we can take advantage of the owners low rates for additional nights and can also offer the same rates to our family & friends.

We are not resale owners but I would think that even resale owners would not be treated any different.

Bought resale at the resort and used it several times. Really nice place. Never treated any differently. Be sure to get an owners card your first trip in, you will get discounts at the restaurant, etc.

Oh, and if going for one bedroom (half of the lockout), I recommend the larger half, it's got some really nice advantages. I had both halves that I bought on eBay for about $100 at the time IIRC.
