tablet questions--just bought DD a Vizio Tablet

L

We just bought our daughter a Vizio Tablet. We are trying to figure out if we can access her online school thru this device.

The online school runs on Windows Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox (we currently run her online school on our MacBook via Firefox and it operates seamlessly).

We cannot access the program thru the Tablet as it is currently designed. Can we download Explorer or Firefox? Will this be a space sucker, or will it go relatively unnoticed?

I've never owned a tablet of any kind. DH has an iPod, and the rest of our devices are MacBooks, and an old PC that was loaned to us by the school ,that only seldom gets used. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

To add, the online school has the following disclaimer on their website
<<<< Internet Explorer 9 and Mozilla 4.0 versions and higher are not compatible with the OLS.>>> (online school)

Laura,

You should be able to run Firefox on your Vizio Tablet. I would assume you will be able to access the school information through Firefox on the tablet.

How much memory do you have?

Is there a slot for a MicroSD card?

Richard

I see this is the Woot.com item today. It seems to have 4GB internal plus a micro SD slot. $159.

Laura, I hope it works for your DD. I gave it some thought- like I need another techno time-waster.

4G on two dedicated internal cards, and a slot for up to 32G removable, though you can't store apps on the removable.

I'm hoping I can find someone who has one of these. You can load Firefox as an App (as we've learned today), but so far the only App we can find is for the current version of Firefox. The school will not support anything 4.0 or higher.

Laura,

Here's a link for Firefox 3.6.23
