I seem to recall that we can make a reservation online starting at midnight (EST) the night before the reservation window opens. So, if the window opens tomorrow, I can go online tonight and make a reservation. Is that correct? Are there any disadvantages to booking it online, like your priority for room assignments is later than if you call in the next morning?

I appreciate your insights.

Mike

We're on the west coast, so we can to online and make reservations at 9:00pm the night before (i.e. midnight eastern time). I've done this multiple times already.

No disadvantages -- in fact, a huge disadvantage if you wait until tomorrow morning and let Others get your early timestamp.

Thanks Robert. I hope you are doing well. It has been a while since we met.

We are planning a trip to Harborside, which my DW has always wanted to visit, so I want to make sure we get in. I will be online at 9pm that day we need it.

Best.

Mike

We are in our WKORV OFD which I reserved on-line (1st stay using on-line system) - seems to have worked out. Ended up on 5th floor - 5th or 6th floor and I am happy. We generally don't go until after August, but friends with kids joining us - two 9yo twin boys - they are having a blast so far.

I just reserved for Westin Princeville resort for April at midnight today. By the time I decided where to pull the options from, it was 12.06 am. Received an email confirmation shortly after 9 am.

Congratulations to you also Mike. Let me know how Harborside is. We want to go there next September or October (2017).

Just a little morning humor:wave:

We have twin boys (2 twin boys is redundant)
Not a dig - We have just heard this phrase so many times it makes us chuckle. Twins don't come any other way than 2!
You could however only have one of the twins with you!

Okay now I'm being pedantic - One could have two triplets (of the three)!
And of course you would not have to say - I have 3 triplets:doh:

Enough

How about a visit to the ATM Machine? or other butchered abbreviations.

We are on the west coast too and have been doing our reservations this way ever since they started it. However, this month we will be at WPORV on the very date we need to reserve our home resort for 2016. If I go to MSC at 6 PM on that day (which presumably will be midnight EDT), will it work the same way as it always has here at home?

Has anyone tried to do this over their WiFi? Sometimes it can be pretty slow.

It doesn't matter where you are when you make the reservation online, as long as it is midnight EASTERN time.

Thanks for the confidence. I will give it a go and see if it works.

Reserving at 10pm from Colorado worked 2 weeks ago

We reserved from Denver 2 weeks ago at 10 pm. We did this over wifi. I see no reason why it should not work from Hawaii at 6 pm.

This is really hilarious. Did time change suddenly in Hawaii? Did the Internet enter a time warp when connecting from Hawaii to SVN? What do they teach in your schools? ;)

I chuckle when I hear "9am in the morning", or something similar.

Hawaii doesn't observe daylight savings time, along with most parts of Arizona, US Virgin Islands and a few other places...
So currently Hawaii is 6 hours behind Eastern time zone until 'fall back' on Nov 1, 2 am ET. Then from Nov 1 to mid-March thereabouts, Hawaii is only 5 hours behind... Might matter if you need to be right on the dot and vacationing at those spots at the time :)

Most people have smart phones nowadays...smart phones have world time...add the Hawaiian time (or any other location) and you don't have to worry about what time you need to make your reservation, no matter where you are on the planet.
