Gone, but not forgotten. She's on the Edge of Extinction (with Natalie) so she has a chance to make it back into the game. If those players are smart they'll get rid of Rob.

Amber never did anything the first time but bat her eyes at Rob. Good riddance.

I don't recognize half of the old winners, and I've watched Survivor since its inception. Didn't recognize Natalie at first until I heard her accent, and about the same time I remembered that she was on Amazing Race with her sister. But I still don't actually recall her winning survivor.

My bet to win is on one of the new school players. I think Rob and Sandra will be gone before the merge. At this point I don't have any favorite player.

I haven't seen last night's episode but I've read a bit about it. If this is going to end up being Rob running the whole game I think I'm over it.

I'd love to see Ethan win again, but doubt he will. But my overall favorite is Sandra. I'd love to see her win for a third time. Don't think that will happen either.

I watched it, and don’t disagree with the one voted out. I agree with @Luanne, that Rob and Sandra have pretty large targets on their backs. I doubt they’ll make it to the end.

Amber seems defeated already when she speaks... I think she wants to get home to kids....Boston Rob (The Godfather) will follow soon

not likely anyone left who would ever dream of considering sitting next to either rob or sandra being the most liked/revered/yadda players in survivor history....just a matter of how long the other players want to keep them around as "protection".

also agree, i thought id seen nearly every survivor there was, but i truly didnt recognize at least 3 or 4 of the players.

While its built up as a "best of the best"...its clear many of the OG members are not the same folks they were that resulted in their wins...10 to 20 years makes for alot of changes! Perhaps its just how the first episode was cut...but there do appear to be a few out there who are clearly not in it to win it...vs just coming back for another "experience" on TV etc.

Well tonights Survivor was pretty good, imo. The Sandra blindside was really unexpected. I thought Tony was going for sure.

I had no idea who was going from the second tribe. Direct Tv went out for about 10 minutes towards the middle of the show which was DVRd. So I didn't see any of the discussions with that second tribe. I was shocked when Denise pulled out two idols, one for herself and one for Jeremy? But looks like Jeremy voted for her to get out. Did the viewers know she was going with 2 idols. Why did Jeremy vote her out? Who was ringleader for wanting Denise out?

I was pretty shocked. Gutsy move, for sure. And after Sandra gave Denise her idol, too. Plus, Denise didn't have to give up her second fire token. (I wonder if she already knew she was going to blindside Sandra like that?) Using her second idol for Jeremy(?) was brilliant, although unneeded, it seems. Great game play. Note that everyone else had voted for Denise to go, and by her great shocker play, she saved herself - only for now, of course. Denise has an even bigger target on her back, and will likely be the next one voted out. She's proven she can't be trusted to play along.

Oh yeah, and don't forget Parvati is also gone. After Rob was voted out, it seemed like it might go this way. So the "big three" everyone was so afraid of are all gone now. Will be interesting to see how the rest of the game plays out. In a larger sense, this season is playing the way most seasons do (and a lot like how Big Brother seems to go) - the most aggressive, biggest-target players are the first to be voted out. Then the floaters and hangers-on and coattail-riders seem to clean up at the end. We'll see.

Great season, so far, I think. What's your opinion?

Kind of hard to explain the dynamic. I think Tony was behind the push to get Denise out. He had a three-way deal with Sandra and the tall woman (sorry, don't remember her name.) They agreed Denise was a larger threat than Jeremy. So they dragged him in and he agreed he'd vote out Denise to save himself. Sandra, meanwhile, cooked a side deal to give Denise an idol in exchange for two fire tokens. Denise said she'd give one token before the Tribal, and one after, once the idol was proven to be real and such. Sandra agreed. Denise already had one idol nobody knew about. So at tribal, Sandra's comment when writing Denise's name about, "This is for show, you're not going home," showed Sandra was onboard with the side deal. The first idol Denise played was the one Sandra gave her. The second idol was the one Denise had all along. Sandra got played, big time. But with the vote of four to evict Denise, the lone vote to evict Sandra was Denise's. I thought it would be Tony, but I think when Denise said she could do something that was a "game changer," I think getting Sandra out was what she meant. Clever editing this week.

Just think, the only way Sandra could have saved herself was to keep her idol and play it. Denise was in the catbird seat, she was going to choose who got voted off, Sandra became the target when she tried to cut the sneaky side deal.

Yes, Denise explained she had two idols after Sandra gave her the idol Sandra had. My wife thought Denise might do something to make her move. Denise and Jeremy were on the same side in a different tribe. You can probably see what you missed on youtube.

It was a bold move. I love the blind side. Sandra seemed to take it well. It is a game after all. Everyone has already won at least once, and Sandra twice. So I don't feel bad for any of them.

And here I thought it was just me. :)

I don't watch much series television, so this is one I do try not to miss. The series finale of Modern Family is this week, too. Another must-see at our house.

I will catch up on Survivor Thursday this week. Want to watch the Modern Family retrospective and finale tonight, and there's a celebrity game show on afterwards that looked good in the commercials.

I thought it was great. Not surprised to see the one voted out depart, though. Some things one brings on themselves. What I don't understand are some of the backhanded loyalties among those who remain. Next week will be even more interesting. :)

I watched all of those. Great TV, frankly. I'm going to miss Modern Family. And the Millionaire reboot was fun. Will be enjoyable to watch the other celebs play.

Did anyone else get a bit choked up at the loved ones visit? Great twist this time. I read somewhere that Tyson had a lot to do with it. Part of his deal in coming back was that his daughter be allowed to visit him while he was there.

Still don't have a favorite. They are all so good in their own ways and I keep changing my mind on who I'd like to see win for the second time.

I didn't get choked up, but I thought it was a great way to say Thanks to the cast for playing the game. That they skipped the competition and let everyone see their families like that, even those on Extinction Island, was a great pay back to them all. Did you catch at the end of the show when they usually show previews of next episode, a short clip where Jeff Probst told the jury Thanks, and they could go. Everyone crowded around him and thanked him for the family visit to them. Lots of smiles in that group. It was a nice gesture all around.
