Surprise party leaves 18 in Texas family with coronavirus

A man who hosted the May 30 party in North Texas was unknowingly infected with the virus. The gathering of 25 people that only lasted a few hours left 18 people testing positive for coronavirus.

This is why we refuse to go out to restaurants to eat. Most of the servers are the 20 something's that go out to bars and other gatherings ignoring social distancing and will go to work sick because of economic constraints like what happened in Dallas:

I know there are a lot of older folk out there too that eschew social distancing and masks, but this is a case where I can reduce our risk by making a choice based on demographics and what I'm seeing on the media.

We went to Saltgrass on Father's day for curbside pick-up. (Called ahead and still waited in the parking lot an hour and a half for our meal) Three 20 something servers -
1 wore her mask properly, 1 wore her mask on her chin, 1 was maskless. The manager (30 something) did not wear a mask.

Yesterday two young ladies I know, aged 18 and 17 said they don’t care if they get coronavirus. One is my daughters baby sitter. I don’t feel I can visit my grandsons. They are social isolating but the sitter is not.

It's sad (to me at least) when those who don't care about their own actions don't realize that their actions affect others.

I took the dog to his groomer today. Owner/groomer said, 'oh, you're STILL wearing a mask?!?', Me- Yeah. I wear it for you, not me. She- 'Well, I'M not gonna get sick.' Me-'I hope not'. The Lt Governor who would take over if the Gov is recalled has been photographed flashing a WP hand signal.

I think I'm in the market for a new dog groomer on several levels. (sigh)

Sadly, an entire family my wife and I are friends with (but haven't seen in months due to the pandemic) all have Covid-19. At this point, it's not about how they got it or what they did wrong, it's all about hoping/praying for their recovery. Do people recover? I think it's like 90%. But the 10% or so that are concerning, because one death is one too many. That person could be someone's kid or parent or grandparent.

Our health Canada doctors just presented information that the spike in seniors contracting covid-19 is decreasing substantially. The information they have is that it is now the under 40s who are getting this virus and spreading it. Just confirming the thought process of younger people who feel they are immune to this virus.
