Scott Derrickson Appointed General Manager Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club
Three GM’s Now Leading The Aruba Marriott Properties
On Tuesday August 5th the Aruba Marriott properties welcomed Scott Derrickson, new General Manager of Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club, to the team.
With the addition of Scott to the Marriott family, the Aruba Marriott properties are now lead by three general managers, all overseeing one specific property.
Scott Derrickson will be in charge of all operations departments that support the three buildings of Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club, as well as maintaining the relationship with owners and board members.
Surf Club is a Marriott Vacation Club property, consisting of 450 two- and three bedroom villas.
Scott brings with him a wealth of experience in the lodging industry. Most recently he was Director of Operations at the Radisson Aruba Resort. Scott began his hospitality career in 1987 in the Wyndham organization, in Scottsdale, Arizona. He has worked and lived in Aruba on and off since 1998, working for both the Wyndham and Radisson organizations in various roles. He has also owned and managed several successful private ventures over his working career, and will bring us the benefit of his varied professional experience.
In his new role Scott Derrickson will be reporting to Rick Zeolla, overall general manager and responsible for all three Marriott properties. Rick Zeolla is based at the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino (hotel) that is in the final stages of a $40 million renovation project. In July 2008 Corey Guest was appointed general manager of Surf Club’s sister Marriott Vacation Club property, Marriott’s Aruba Ocean Club.
