Why is the timeshare owner needing to go to the recorder of deeds to get a copy of the relinquished paperwork? We had to pay $250 to relinquish property we owned. I was told the maintenance fees would be around $2400+ each year and I had points given to me every other year. It started out at $400.
We received a bad deal and have to go get our deed info ourselves!

The recorded deed is what shows the transfer in the county's public records; a relinquishment letter by itself doesn't necessarily do that. I'd ask whoever handled the relinquishment for the recording number and confirmation of what still needs to be filed before paying anything else.

Wow, we never had to that for ours.
We took Hilton up on their offer of a title transfer of our Sunrise Ridge week for $225. back in the spring when they first emailed us with the 3 choices. We got their papers notarized in June and returned them to the address they provided. We got a confirmation email from them in early August to say the title transfer was complete and our account was cancelled as of July ??/26. The email stated we would receive hard copies by mail within 30-45 days - we are still waiting! A few days after that email we got another email from Lemonjuice asking for all the same stuff. I promptly emailed them back to say we did that once, and paid the fees, so we were not doing it again!

This morning we got an email from Capital (who is purchasing Sunrise Ridge) with our 'new Capital Resorts log in information". Now I have emailed them with a copy of the confirmation of our account cancellation.
