DRI: The Point at Poipu, 3 deeded weeks, 1 of which is in The Club.
There was thunder and lightning in Poipu last week, and there's thunder and lightning right now in Waikiki. We're used to it in Minnesota, but the locals say it's rare here. I can't believe that there's still a couple of people out on surf boards in the middle of a thunder storm.

I had never seen sheet lightning until I experienced a Kona storm on Kauai.

Amazing, no lightning bolts but the sheet lightning lighted the whole sky.

Those surfing in a thunderstorm are known as pupus for the sharks. :hysterical:

Just saw these latest statistics on the rainfall.

The highest rainfall recorded since Sunday afternoon fell in Wainiha and Hanalei with 15.84 and 17.47 inches falling in 24 hours from 8 p.m. Sunday through 8 p.m. Monday.

Kapahi reported 13.82 inches, Mt. Waialeale reported 10.39 inches and Wailua measured 10.07 inches. Lihu‘e Airport posted 8.09 inches.

It can stop anytime now. I hope everyone is safe.
