My first time staying at Summit Watch and I am shocked to learn the town lift will be closed. Does anyone know if it always closes prior to end of the season?

We've been in July a couple of times and the town lift was always open and used quite alot by mountain bikers, hikers, trail runners, and just those who want to ride it.
Can't say specifically on that one, but ski resorts start to close when the daily ticket sales fall below what it takes to remain viable. The locals who have season passes don't fill the cash registers, people have stopped traveling (did you notice?) and Spring has people wanting to be out doing yard work instead of winter sports. March 15 seems a bit early, but under the circumstances, understandable.

I received this information in an email directly from Summit Watch. I followed up with them and received the following reply:
This is an estimated date, and has not yet been confirmed. This was provided just in case the Town Lift did close early due to a warm season. It has happened in the past where the Town Lift will close before the rest of the mountain due to snow melt lower on the mountain. Please let me know if you have any further questions or not.
This is not the end of the world (especially considering everything else going on this week) but it took me by surprise. We bought resale with plans to use at end of March every year and I was not aware of this risk.
They try to keep it open as long as possible. It has been pretty warm and the snow is going fast on the lower parts of the hill and in town. There is no significant snow in the forecast.
