How would a summer Four Seasons Week in Scottsdale trade with II as compared to a Marriott Gold or Platinum Week at Grande Vista or Ocean Pointe?

I don't know for certain, but I think the fact that 2 bedroom annual summer Silver weeks at Four Seasons Scottsdale can be purchased for around $6000 is an indication that they aren't real valuable. The maintenance fees are so incredibly high, and the demand clearly isn't there...otherwise you wouldn't have one of the top 10 timeshare resorts in the country for sale at that price.

I have been tempted to purchase one of those weeks myself, but I just can't believe they are a good value...especially since they don't sell very fast even at that low price.

For these kind of questions it would be good to go straight to II for the answer. I have a favorite II rep who's been with the company over 10 years who I feel confident in helping me with info like this. When you get an II rep who really seems to know his/her stuff, ask how long they've been working there. Get their no. and keep it on hand.

I've also been caught up in the rave reviews for Four Seasons with the daily maid service, pool attendants, etc. But those maintenance fees are an extra $1,000 for each week. For less than that amount, I could pay to have daily maid service and find a pool attendant to put a towel on my chair and even sprtiz me down with Evian water (if I wanted). ;)

Shortcomings I've read about for Four Seasons is the limited ability for internal exchanges. Marriott is doing a good job increasing the location opportunities for Marriott to Marriott exchanges.

My guess is that the Marriott platinums at GV and OP would have better trade value than a silver Four Seasons. I think the gold OP would also likely have better trade value as well. Not many people are looking to visit Scottsdale in July/ August. I own both Marriott and Four Seasons. If you are deciding which to purchase I would recommend Marriott - because of the lower MFs and the many more locations. Although I am happy owning platinum time at FSA which I will regularly use, the MFs are very high and IMO it is not worth paying such high MFs for a silver week that has limited internal exchange potential within Four Seasons. Frankly, with the high MFs I'm not sure I'd even take a silver interval if someone offered it to me for free.
