3 weeks ago I paid my m/f and requested my Summer Bay Las Vegas week to be deposited in my RCI account. They said it would take about 1 week. When it didn't show in my account I called and they said give it 7 to 10 days. It still didn't show. It has now been 3 weeks and I call and there is no answer and the phone just keeps ringing.

Has anyone else had this problem?

What number are you calling? I see 1-877-642-5060 listed. It should not take more than a couple days. Call again and ask to speak with a supervisor.

Splatenfoot, I finally got someone to answer the phone. She said that they have been taking care of 2006 deposits and 2007 had to wait. However, they will get to them this week.

I don't understand what takes so long. If we can deposit 12 months ahead then they should be ready for that. They didn't mention that it would take over 3 weeks when they took my m/f for next year.

I find it amazing how every resort and/or management company is different but thinks everyone should know how they work. A few of the people I spoke with at Summer Bay were nice, others were very snippy.

Well, I guess I'll just keep checking. If it's not there by Saturday, I'll call for a supervisor.

The problem is probably that everyone started making deposits right after paying the mf for 2006. Next time if you know in advance, call and deposit BEFORE the end of the year. You do not have to wait for the mf bill to be sent. You can pay in advance at the previous year's rate. If it goes up, you can just pay the balance later.

Anne & Splatenfoot: we just purchased at Summer Bay and I paid 2006 maintenance in Nov. and booked my 2006 week with them (in fact we just came back from there and I'll post a review). When I inquired about banking a week, the woman told me I could only bank with RCI 45 days out. I got the impression that I could only secure a reservation 45 days out if I wanted to bank, and that would render my deposit pretty useless. If I pay my 2007 fees now, secure a week in my season (Feb - April) will they bank it for me? Thanks for any info. you can give me. ---Jacki

Jacki, I always deposit my week as soon as I know what I need to do with it. In the past I have rented my week or deposited with RCI.

My 2007 week (Feb, March or April) is just now deposited.

Thanks, Anne. I will call them and get further info. How do you find the unit trades if deposited a year in advance?

Whoever you talked to was confused. You can deposit up to 2 years in advance. You should have pretty good trading power as long as you deposit a year in advance.

You do not make a reservation and then bank it. Just tell them to bank it.

Jacki, the possible exchanges look good. Lots of Florida, but mostly Orlando. But some really nice ones.

Not so much in the Caribbean or Hawaii. Pretty good for Central states and Arizona.

One of these years we're going to go to our own resort (although my daughter used it one year and liked it).
