Go to tripadvisor and look there. You are staying in an area near a lot of restaurants. You can find a lot of really great food in DC. You need to define for yourself what you think you want. I personally like the area near the Verizon Center and China Town. Lots of exceptional choices there and many are reasonably priced. I like Jaleo for Tapas. Also, you may want to head north up to the U Street corridor for some trendy spots, soul food or Ben's Chile Bowl. Georgetown is fun, but most places are overpriced. Adams Morgan is another neat area with a lot of good choices. Old Ebbit Grill is part of the Clyde's restaurant group. It's fun, but there are lots of better choices. Go for lunch or brunch as opposed to dinner or just go for a cocktail and some oysters.
Another area easy to get to via metro is Bethesda. Terrific concentration of restaurants there.
