Hi Everyone, :)

I have owned a MROP/VRI red week for several years now--it was the first timeshare purchase I made ever made (bought resale)--and I have had many successes--at least in my mind--with using it. I am wondering if this is typical for MROP, or if I have been fortunate (plain lucky)...

Since owning it, I have been able to internally exchange into the following resorts:

Schooner's Landing, Newport, Oregon, Christmas week
Riviera Oaks, Ramona, CA, summer week
Winner's Circle Resort, Solana Beach, CA, February week (dad's birthday)
San Clemente Inn, San Clemente, CA, April week (mom's birthday)

And I recently traded a week at Desert Vacation Villas for a 2-bedroom September week at Lawrence Welks Villas next year (using TPI). :cheer:

I know that MROP is a "no-frills" type of timeshare system, but I have been pleasantly pleased with the red week I own. I am wondering if any others have similar success stories to share about their MROP weeks, and if they are satisfied with owning a MROP week--oh, and also the direction it might be headed under VRI?

Thanks, everyone. :)

I, too, have either been very lucky or have a great trader with my MROP property. Mine is a rotating week and color but I plan early and have had great exchanges through RCI!:whoopie:

I have been very happy with past performance of my MROP week.

Am now waiting to see if past performance is indicative of future.

I did not like the VRI changes to a successful programme, but they may take a couple of years to play out. I'm waiting to see, my past performance in such like situations has not been good.

Thank you for replying :)

Thank you both for replying. It's good to know that MROP can be a good timeshare choice not just for me, but for others as well.

I, too, did not like the VRI changes (namely, the new reservation procedures), but I am still positive about the whole situation, as it is exciting to me the many choices/options that might come available, with this new internal exchange. But, of course, we will have to see if it works out to our benefit.

Take care, fellow MROP owners. :D
