Yes, and if you plot the number of pirates in the Caribbean against global temperatures over time, you will see there is a direct inverse correlation. So therefore, the decline of pirates in the Caribbean causes global warming. :rolleyes:

Now that I see this article is from MSNBC, I'm not surprised. What a bunch of hogwash, not to say how misleading the title is vs. the content of the article. It is full of words like "maybe" and "probably" with no real mention of science behind the hypothosis. This is journalism???

I'd be more concerned about being able to light my tap water on fire in areas where "fracking" happens.

Or afraid of toxic chemicals in drinking water period from the process.

It's an article written by the Associated Press shown on MSNBC, you'll see the exact same article on the Fox news web site and every other news web site. The study from USGS isn't even published yet so might want to wait before rushing to any judgement.
