studio verses one bedroom versus two bedroom

I see on the forum that if you buy a two bedroom you can get 7000 points
but the other resale ones usually are lower. I live in florida I am retired and live on the Gulf coast. I went to the hGVC presentation and bought the
7000 points for 1695. I will join one when I figured out what is right for me. I am single and would like to travel more. Can I just but the 7000
points and use a studio or one bedroom. How do folks look at this? I assume it's a points thing? SO does it matter what you buy into as long as you get the points you want? I was looking at the ones in Orlando cause I live here. These were 5000 1 bedroom with lower MF. I will continue to ask questions until I figure this out. Oh can I move the points I have now
from my purchase to a resale If I buy one???? Thanks for any help.:hi:

Welcome to TUG!

Inside of 9 months, the club booking window, points are points. So you are free to spend your 7000 pts at what ever HGVC resort, in what ever size room is available. So if you don't mind a studio or 1-bedroom, you could get more than a week of vacation for your 7000 pts. MF are charged by room size not point value, so it would be cheaper MF wise to buy a 1 bedroom platinum(4800 pts) than a 2-bedroom gold (5000 pts).

Definitely do some research before buying and do not buy from Hilton, buy from a reputable resale agent and save thousands upon thousands of dollars.

Use your 7,000 points and see how the system works before you buy. There will always be timeshares available for sale, so there's no rush or urgency in making a decision.

The nice thing about being retired is you can buy platinum but travel during gold season to really stretch your points. :cheer:
