I have used Avis in the past. Wondering if anyone has ever used Dependable of site from the Airport?

I can't help with offsite rentals. We usually use Hertz because I have points from work travel but the thread below has some info. Not Dependable, but other off site companies.

I have used Dependable and was disappointed.
1) our vehicle was not in good shape
2) back window (because of wrong top on Jeep) was missing and mosquitoes would be in the car
3) Dependable offices and car pickup was about a mile from STT

We use Amalie now (Jeep 4WD) - and have for the last 3-4 years - but we go to StJ (via car barge). Amalie may be overkill for just a StT rental

Hertz won't allow cars to go to StJ.

Thanks. I have a reservation with Avis whom I have used in the past. Amalie is crazy expensive. Even more than Avis. When I asked Dependable the year of the vehicle they said 2007 so that was a red flag.

We are on St John this week and have always rented cars from Avis. Our car this week has 7000 miles on it and is in decent condition. When they knew that we were heading over to St John, they wanted us to buy the roadside service. Since I am a AAA member, we get road-side service for free so we declined, but still hope we will not need it

Interesting reading this thread. I need to rent a van or full size car, and two compacts for the week our daughter gets married. I was wondering if there was a way to get a discount simply because I am renting three cars.

Good luck. I think you may be hamstrung because this is obviously an area where demand outweighs supply and they dictate the pricing. It's why I will end up paying over $600 bucks for a minivan for 7 days! BUT, I am going to go to St. John and other places so the car will give me my moneys worth.

I just booked with pdise.com since we will be guaranteed the exact cars we want. Since it is a wedding and all my children will be there, I needed to be assured we would have one van. So booked a van for 10 days - $900, 4 Dr Jeep wrangler for 10 days - $800, and another 4DR Jeep wrangler for 7 days - $540. I have piece of mind knowing that the insurance is included since various people will be driving the cars. They gave me $10 per day per vehicle discount for renting all three. They seem to be very efficient to work with. Emailed me back within 5 minutes from the beginning.
