Why is it seems like everything happens at once......

I have to see a surgeon next week to have my thyroid removed.

DS is deploying to africa on the 11th.

dd is trying to juggle travel plans for a trip to Hawaii, then as soon as she returns off to internship in New zealand and then off to Brazil for a year...and guess who is her travel agent.

Other DS is trying to buy first house.

My dad is 93 and last night I had to take him to the emergency room because he couldn't urinate - prostate issues....home with catheter and Urologist can't see him till Friday.

Had to cancel meeting today to stay home with Dad - he's miserable....DIL is on her way to see DS in Indiana before he deploys, DH is on his way home from business trip to Ireland.....

I usually don't let things get to me but I am sooooo stressed:bawl:

I really need a timeshare vacation......soon.

Oh boy, you are definitely overloaded!

Some of these are musts - your surgery, and concern about your DS's deployment.

Are there any other grown children to help with your father? Perhaps DD can make her own travel arrangements, or at least call the airlines and check on the options, then talk it out with you?

Other DS's first house - to what extent are you involved, and to what extent could you be less involved?

Tell everyone except your father that you are overloaded right now and you'd appreciate if they could take on some of this.

And in any case, just take some time for yourself, even if it's just five or ten minutes occasionally, to try to relax - close your eyes, deep breaths, bubble bath, whatever helps you. I know I'd be hitting the chocolate!

Sometimes everything happens at once - and you are the poster boy right now!!!

Break it down into pieces...handle the immediate emergencies, and take it step-by-step. That's all anyone can do. And breathe.

Meanwhile, you are in my prayers. I, too, am sending hugs!!!

this is A LOT. No wonder you are feeling stressed!!!

Try to hydrate, breathe, exercise and eat/sleep well. Do what you can to be physically and mentally strong as it will help keep the stress from overwhelming you.

Hang tough, you can handle all this.

That's enuff to drive someone to drink!
Now that I think about it, not a bad idea to get thru this a bit tipsy.
It'll calm the nerves. ;)
