Stonegate Firm/Law touts itself as the only exit company with a co-branded law firm. The founder is supposedly an attorney. That makes them reputable then, right? Not so fast.

I have come across many different questionable Facebook ads that all lead back to Stonegate. These include company names and personal names. A couple are celebrity profiles that appear to have been hijacked. Are these companies simply steering leads to Stonegate for a fee or is Stonegate directly creating/using/hijacking other Facebook names to find leads for themselves? Does that distinction really matter?

Attached are some Facebook profiles I came across. Some have links directly to Stonegate. Some have a different named link but after completing a couple of simple questions (no matter how you answer, you always qualify), you end up with a request for personal information and only then is Stonegate Firm/Law's info is shown.

Four of these company FB profiles are brand new (ironically, one is called Stop Scammers, one is Fair Timeshare Exit, one is Timeshare Release Experts, and the last one is Business Finance Tools). Two of these scam company names list non-existent fake addresses on 7th Ave in NYC. There is a personal FB profile of a "Sally Anderson" which is a brand-new FB profile. Melinda Doolittle is somewhat of a celebrity having finished 3rd on American Idol in 2007. Yet her profile is being used by/for Stonegate for exit lead generation. She hasn't personally posted to her FB profile in over three years. The other celebrity was Paul Zerdin, a ventriloquist. The link on Zerdin's profile was "Gettimesharefree" (leading to Stonegate). Some people posted on the Zerdin ad about exiting their timeshare and the responses from the scammer came across as if answered by "Paul Zerdin" himself. The ad is no longer on Zerdin's profile so Zerdin may have had it removed. Coincidentally, Doolittle's profile has the same "gettimesharefree" link as Zerdin. One of the "gettimesharefree" screen grabs below shows the Stonegate Firm, LLC connection. I had reported the Zerdin ad to Facebook and they of course responded, "We didn't remove the ad".

Stonegate has 30 complaints in the last 12 months but are A+ BBB accredited.

Imagine that, an exit company in one of the most scam ridden industries is using questionable/deceitful methods to generate leads all in the hopes of extracting thousands of dollars from timeshare owners.

I would think that the information in @RX8's post would be sufficient to bring them to the attention of either the AG in their state, or a really good, activist AG in another state (say, NC, for example.) You don't have to have legal standing to just reach out to their offices via email, and--in a cogent and not un-hinged way--say "Hey, we thought you might want to be aware of this firm that is probably committing wire fraud, alongside soliciting fraudulent services." It certainly wouldn't hurt.

I am still seeing many more Stonegate Firm Facebook ads disguised as other companies or individuals. Here is yet another Facebook ad. This one appears to be AI generated. This checks all the boxes - elderly lady, Amazing Grace playing softly in the background, lots of tears, bible on the table, using the words “stress”, “embarrassed”, “shame”, “prayer”, “bible”, “God”, “bible study”, “amen”, and of course the miracle of a $29K refund.

Tell me if you also think this is AI generated. If it is indeed AI, it is surprising that “real” attorneys would blatantly violate FTC guidelines banning deceptive, fake, or AI-generated reviews. Of course, this is an exit company so it is about what one would expect. If they are violating FTC rules they certainly shouldn’t be rated A+ and BBB accredited.

How do I know this is Stonegate Firm disguised as “Timeshare Dispute Network” since the FB page is missing the link? The video shows it very briefly. Below is a video capture with Stonegate Firm’s name.

This is a new low for Stonegate Law/Stonegate Firm. Such poor taste in this ad I don’t see how anyone can say that they are not scamming people.

A Facebook reel, using a newer page called Timeshare Relief (with a link to Stonegate), shows a pretty young girl in a bikini stating “I made my white* sugar daddy choose between me and his timeshare”. Of course they also include a flat out lie by saying that new legislation has made it possible for timeshare owners to get a refund. The attorney behind this company, Dennis Donovan, should be investigated.

*It certainly sounds like “white” sugar daddy to me. Maybe it is something else but it doesn’t change the fact that the ad is in poor taste.
