Staycation Anniversary Trip to Ke Nani Kai

Last year we decided to do an Anniversary stay at Ke Nani Kai this year.

I own a one bedroom at Ke Nani Kai and with that ownership, I can book a two bedroom at no extra charge based in Availability. So we booked a two bedroom for 10-18-25 to 10-25-25. Kim likes having the extra bathroom.

Since then our daughter has decided to make a trip to visit us in February. She is staying two weeks. One week is vacation and the second week her boss said she could work from here. So she's staying two weeks.

I thought I had an extra week but I had to check. I emailed Sue in reservations and she got back to me that I had the extra week and we booked two weeks starting 01-31-26 to 02-14-25 in a two bedroom.
We will stay with her there while she is here. We will also stay a day or two in our condo so she can enjoy Bingo at our Cabana and we'll do a BBQ there too. We are looking forward to taking here on a Whale watch tour since this is the first time she has been here during whale season. The boat only takes six so we will have the boat half filled with just us.

In the email, Sue asked if we could change our October reservation to the next week. She knows we live on the island. It really didn't matter to us so we switched to 10-25-25 to 11-01-25. She also gave us a nice upper two bedroom unit.

So we are all set for our Anniversary staycation in a few weeks. It's our 41st Anniversary so no special number but we will be celebrating.

We received an email from Sue at Ke Nani Kai and she let us know that they are waiting for parts from Oahu for the hot tub and she know Kim likes using it so she asked if we wanted to come a week later. We decided to go a week later. Hopefully the parts come in. Lol

Hopefully we'll check in November 1st.

Yes, it helps to live on the island too. Lol

Yes, she knows that's one thing we really enjoy since we don't have one here at WaveCrest.

We just got another email from Sue. We should be all set for next week. They are having an emergency board meeting on Monday to approve the purchase of a new heater for the hot tub. The heaters are in stock on Oahu and they should have it by Tuesday. Then they will install it on Tuesday or Wednesday.

She said we can have an early checkin on Saturday and a late checkout the next Saturday so it worked out great for us.

We just got an email from Sue at Ke Nani Kai and the hot tub is up and working so we are on for our stay there starting Saturday.

We received our checki-in email this morning. We have an early check-in of 2pm for unit 133. She also gave us a late check out for 5pm on the 8th. I guess we'll be using the hot tub on the 8th too.

Kim started her packing list last week and she started getting things ready yesterday. She'll finish up packing this morning and we should be leaving by 1pm. It takes about 50 minutes to get there. She's planning this trip just like she would if we were leaving from Wisconsin. Lol

We will probably come back home once or twice to get mail and water the plants so it's no big deal if we forget something. Lol

We have been looking forward to this for a while so it should be fun. I post a video of our unit later today.

We stopped and had lunch at Molokai Pizza Cafe on our way out to the west side. We had to stop for a few more groceries too. We arrived right at 2pm. The door was lock so I had to go to the office and they came over right away to unlock the door.

So we are all unpacked and just relaxing a bit now. We'll probably head down to the hot tub in a bit.

I took some videos of the ride over that I posted on YouTube. I am doing a segment on my radio show about the trip.
So I put all the videos in a Playlist and I'll add to it as the trip goes on.

The video of our condo shows some visitors we had on our lanai right at the end. Lol
