I think we need to be generous to each other these days - he has probably been fending off people more pushy and importunate than you, in addition to be worried about noncompliance in the area generally and whether he's facing the furlough ax. It's a difficult time for everyone, especially service workers.
Were you nearer than 6 feet to him during that conversation?
Sorry -- my post was meant for a Hilton Head thread. I was more like 20-feet away from him. I was on my bike and he was in the guard shack with the door cracked two inches.
