Starwood tells me II wants multiple $49 fees to add my SBP weeks

1. I thought it was $49 for as many weeks as you want to add?

2. There is no distinguishing any of my SBP weeks from another in my account, so why do I pay to add more generic-looking weeks?

3. Marriott gives me a res # to deposit my weeks, so I can keep track of my ownership easily. Starwood says, "tell II ST2 for that deposit." What?

4. I have to watch my Starwood deposits closely and make sure they are deposited into II under History and in My Units. Then I have to call Starwood and ask which II exchange # goes to which contract #.

5. This is all a ridiculous process between Starwood and II, and Starwood is not empathetic at all.

I think I have ranted before about this, but the $49 fee per week is new to me. I will pay $49 for multiple weeks, but Starwood better make sure all of them are added, because I have no way of telling.

It is $49 to add per week. If you extend your membership by 1 year, you can multiple weeks.

Yes, always best to just extend or upgrade your membership to add multiple or even a single week. Never pay the fee to just add a week flat out.

My go to II rep has told me there's no reason to pay for adding additional weeks at the same SVN report where I already have a week in II, and he told me clearly I didn't need to do it for my last purchase so I didn't. I have had no problem trading the new week.

I think if you are have two of the same resorts, you just use the same place holder under My Units for either one. I think though if you need to deposit both, you can only do one online and need to call II to deposit the other as when you deposit the first, the place holder disappears. Of course, this doesn't really apply to Starwood owners since they need to work through Starwood to deposit their weeks.

II should have some differentiation between weeks in My Units, if they want to add more; otherwise, it's just a way for them to get more money out of people. And FYI, RCI doesn't charge to add weeks to one's account, nor do they charge to take them out of an account. Just sayin'.

But RCI has a higher annual membership fee along with a higher exchange fee. In the end I suppose it balances out.

Cindy - with all the problem you have had with II and your Starwoodd weeks, I'm really surprised you are adding more.

These aren't weeks I just added recently, but they are older weeks I have had for about two years and haven't needed to deposit before.

My first order of business is to get all of my weeks checked for the ability to assign to II, and I will pay one year of II membership dues to add them.

I am trying not to buy any additional timeshare weeks or points.

And has anyone else noticed that the prime summer weeks for 2016 are getting booked this far in advance, especially the 2 bedrooms? It's because of the new online system, and there will be a lot of unhappy Starwood owners. I reserved mine at exactly one year out.
