I was able to make a trade this week with an ongoing exchange I believe thanks to having Starwood priority in II. I would like to secure an additional week as my fiancé and I are having a destination wedding later this year. I see availability for the unit I am looking for using Starwood Priority, problem is, I used my 2013 week for my additional trade and my uniti an EOY odd year, so I have nothing else until 2015. I do however have another 2012 week, non-Starwood but it is not pulling up Starwood availability understandably. My question is, how long do Starwood owners have priority before it goes into the ret of the II pool.

Thanks,
CJ

From the II FAQ:

How does Starwood to Starwood Priority Work?

When Starwood makes a deposit in II - for the first 30 days, only Ongoing Requests from Starwood owners will be filled.

After 30 days, Ongoing Requests from other owners are filled IF their deposit has the trading power necessary.

Then, the left over inventory goes online - and for the first 30 days, only Starwood owners can see and reserve it with Instant Online Exchanges. (Note that it is supposed to be 30 days, but it is applied inconsistently. Also - within 60 days - there is no priority.)

After the inventory has been online 30 days, then other owners who have enough trading power can see and reserve the online inventory with Instant Online Exchanges.

Denise,
I do not fully understand the way the FAQ is written.

This is my interpretation:

When Starwood inventory is released into II, ongoing requests from Starwood owners are filled. Then leftovers are then seen online by Starwood owners in II. This process continues for 30 days.

After 30 days. non-Starwood owner requests with enough trading power get filled with remaining inventory. The leftovers are then seen online by non-Starwood owners with enough trading power in II.

Is my interpretation correct?

What is the 60 days thing about?

Thanks,
SP

Within 60 days of check-in there is no Starwood to Starwood exclusivity, even if the 30 day preference period is not up.

Let's say that on Jan. 1, some inventory Starwood shows up online, for Jan. 25th. There will be no Starwood to Starwood priority period, because it's already in flexchange (within 60 days from check-in.) That's how it works "in theory."

Got it on the Flexchange piece. Is my interpretation on the rest of the FAQ correct?
