A month ago I bought a room of SVR at ebay. I am a newbie and I carefully read Starwood FAQ (and other useful threads), but I have not found the answer to the following questions:

(1) Can I (= a owner of voluntary week, resale) register StarCentral (www.mystarcentral.com)? What are needed for registration?

(2) After my unit is fully transferred, will Starwood send me some ownership notification and user's guide (or starter kits) ? Or I have to request Starwood to send me them?

Any comments are welcome. Thank you.

Hi and welcome to TUG! :hi:

(1) Can I (= a owner of voluntary week, resale) register StarCentral (www.mystarcentral.com)? What are needed for registration?

All you need is your deed to register at mystarcentral.com

(2) After my unit is fully transferred, will Starwood send me some ownership notification and user's guide (or starter kits) ? Or I have to request Starwood to send me them?

Any comments are welcome. Thank you.

Since you bought resale, Starwood isn't going to send you anything but a letter letting you know that they have changed the ownership over to you. Starwood pretty much ignores resale customers.

Between MSC, and all the info. we have here, you can find out just about anything you need to know. Besides the FAQ, there is a lot of helpful info. in Owner Resources. As you come up with questions, please post them in this thread.

And congratulations and welcome to TUG.

My MSC lists both my developer purchased Kierland and my resale Mission Hills. It's really no problem.

A problem arises in the registration. My account number is required, but I don't know it. Two weeks ago the closing company told me that they had received confirmation of my ownership from the resort, but I have not yet received any letter from Starwood. Do they let me know my account number on the phone or by the email? Which division of Starwood should I contact with?

In the letter notifying you that ownership is now in your name, there will be a membership number.

If you don't want to wait for the letter, call owner services - (888) 986-9637, and see if you are in the system, yet. If not, you will just have to keep checking or wait for the letter. It can take a month.

Thank you again Denise, for the great information. I am going to wait for the letter from Starwood (at least for one month).

I would give Owner Services a call. If your phone number was provided to Starwood, that plus your address, and you deeded week and unit should be enough information for them to verify you and give you your contract number.

Thank you, Tim. On your advice, I have just tried calling Owner Services and have gotten my account number successfully. Only my name and address were required.
