Hello! I am not a sophisticated TS owner as most of you are, so please bear with me :D

I noticed that in the Chart for SO, it shows our 2 BR Unit, at SVV (Bella), Thanksgiving week (#47) requires now 81,000 points to reserve that week, and is listed as Platinum.

But if I want to exchage within the SVN, I only have the 67,100 original points when I bought my unit (yeah, yeah, same sad story, did not know about TUG 7 years ago).

We just called SVO and they advised, our points remain the same (so less trading power for us). :( Is that correct?

I believe that you should still be able to reserve that week at your home resort if that week was originally included in the season that you purchased. Your StarOption valuation should only come into play if you're trying to exchange out of your season and/or resort.

What section and season of SVV do you own in? Do you have the original paperwork that lists what weeks are in that season?

While I believe Starwood can change the StarOptions need to exchange within SVN, I don't believe they can change what an owner is entitled to at their home resort in their season.

Thanks for your prompt response. Yes, we can still make reservations at our home resort. (Week#47, Thanksgiving, Platinum, Bella section)

I want to give this week (not necessarily Orlando) as a wedding present for April next year, and found out the discrepancy with the points. I thought that we were going also to be upgraded to the 81,000 points. I remember the sales people (pardon my ignorance then  ) told us when we bought in 2001, that our Staroptions would go up eventually.

UPDATE: Just read the sticky, Resources for SVO owners, wow, SVO owners, we were devaluated. How am I going to trade/exchange within SVN. ?? Looks like depositing into II is a better option. Owners who don't visit TUG's don't have any idea, nothing was sent to us by email, mail, pigeon or phone. AH! But Starwood wanted us to return to our home resort this year for Wonderful Updates (they mailed us an invitation and called us a few times). Bummer!

Gotta luv those sales people! They say almost anything in their attempt to close a deal.
