As a follow-up to Rocky's thread on Star Point revaluation, I thought I'd pose the question on Star OPTION revaluations. As I'm sure you know from my previous posts, I think it's unfathomable that my 3 bedroom Westin St John with its own private pool (Platinum season, 95,700 Star Options) cannot trade into a two bedroom at any time in Hawaii, or get a 3 bedroom at the newer Vistana sections, much less a 3 bedroom in low season at Harborside.
I know everyone thinks their resorts are great, and some places are obviously better than others, but some of these Option values are seriously out of whack. If Starwood would make my WSJ StarOptions more likely to get me something comparable, I'd deposit my WSJ, thus opening it up for more people to get into WSJ.
Just thought I'd throw this out there and see what everyone else thinks. Which resort(s) should have the highest StarOption value, which seasons, and what size units? Should a 3 bedroom be able to pull a 3 bedroom?
