Just curious how you learned about this survey, Carol? Was this sent to you? Or did you just come across it? I did see it referred to on TTOL. We have not directly received or seen a similar request. I wonder if they are targeting specific groups of tourists, or those that have stayed at particular hotels, resorts, etc.? Or just counting on word-of-mouth? We tend to rent a condo or villa direct from an owner, so they are the only ones who would normally have our email address anyway. It would be interesting to see the results at some point. Thanks for posting.

Hi @CanuckTravlr, a link to the survey was posted on Jeff Berger’s Everything SXM Facebook page.

The St Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association says the purpose of the survey is to identify what it is that will bring travelers back to the island.

Thanks for that extra info, Carol. I'm not on Facebook, so obviously missed any reference by Jeff Berger to it there. I did complete the survey though. Some interesting questions. We managed to get down this year and came back just as they were starting to ramp up the safety protocols both in SXM and here in Canada. Our first exposure to masks!

We are booked to return for 5 weeks starting mid-January 2021. We hope we will be able to go, but I think our biggest concern will likely be getting on a plane for 5 hours and travelling through airports, assuming the borders are even open to tourist travel. If necessary, we will just push it off to 2022. Thanks for providing the link to the survey. I hope it helps them prioritize what they need to do to keep both islanders and tourists safe.
