We had to cancel a Hawaii reservation 4 days before as hubby broke his leg. They are now in a holding account we can only book 60 outs. We search everyday to at least use some.we live in ga mtns, so carribean and fla would be great. We've seen some availability on st John's. Has anyone been lately and know if the pool being shut down is a no go?

I go to St John often and I have never gotten into the pool. I go to the beach.

There are other pools on the property. Regardless, my family prefers the beach as well.

That pool was in REALLY bad shape when we were there in February, so glad to hear they are fixing it. They waited several years too long.

Other than that, it’s a beautiful property.

We go there a couple of times a year. The main pool is okay but not having it available would not harm our enjoyment of the time on St John given all of the other beaches available and the snorkeling excursions we go on. During a typical 2-week stay there we wind up visiting the main pool only maybe once. The beach adjacent to the pool is perfectly fine as a substitute if you're looking for still water to do a small bit of swimming.

If you stay in the Virgin Grand section (Hillside) there are separate pools for the studio, 1 BR, and 2 BR units and the 3 BR units have dedicated pools. In any case, I believe the pool work was to be completed by late October/early November - it should say on the resort status.
