Wondering if anyone has had to cancel or re-book flights with Spirit Airlines that were made with free spirit miles and if you were able to get the miles used back. There web site is unclear about what will happen if this occurs. Thank you in advance for you comments.

I know nothing about Spirit Airlines. But I have had great success in getting questions answered by reaching out on Facebook. I've done this with Alaska Airlines and Hilton Hotels.

Thank you for the suggestion about facebook. I was able to get my answer. Miles are credited to your account and don't have to be used within 6 months. They will remain active as long as you make at least one purchase a month with your spirit mastercard and pay the annual fee. Any dollar amount paid for taxes and fees must be used with 6 months or they will be lost. Hope this information helps others because spirit's website wasn't clear.

Just wanted to say that to my tremendous surprise, Spirit made an upcoming cancelation very easy. Even before they canceled my flight, they were offering the full total as a credit. After they canceled the flight, I was given the option of a full refund (must call) or a full credit (online) valid for one year from today, not locked to any particular passenger. I chose to leave the credit with Spirit, and intend to use it on routes where Southwest doesn't offer nonstop flights. I hope they are able to weather this storm, we need all the competition we can get.
