We purchased at Hilton Head SC in September. We receive daily e-mails from Interval International about depositing our week. We did so by paying our maintenance fee with Spinnaker Resorts but are drowning in a sea of confusion. Can someone provide an easy to understand explanation about the Spinnaker and II relationship? We owned a timeshare before connected to RCI and I assumed II was similar but II seems complicated. Also the salesperson gave us Dream Vacation vouchers that appear expensive to use, is Dream Vacation legit and how is it related to II?

Paying Spinnaker annual fees allows you to stay at Spinnaker resorts and is likely separate from depositing with II. You would need to call Spinnaker and ask what the procedure is to deposit with II. For Bluewater and Spinnaker flex weeks, Spinnaker chooses the week to deposit with II and it is unlikely to be a summer week, which they save for internal exchangers. You'll need to decide each year whether you stay at Spinnaker or deposit with II.

I believe the weeks that they won't let you deposit are 24-34 but the closer to those weeks you can deposit or they can deposit for you the better. If you are using the week yourself you have to make the request in writing but if you call they can probably talk you through the deposit procedure. Don't let them tell you that a December week is just as good. Insist on something that is at least 4 months from check in and as close to the summer as possible for best trading power.

If you don't have a 1-52 week float or one that allows you to reserve during the summer, you still want to pick something in Sept or October if you can.

Did you buy your week resale or from the Developer? I also own Waterside by Spinnaker but I bought resale. I tried to deposit my week into II but they would not accept it since is was purchased resale so I have to deposit into RCI. Has anything changed?

It isn't a retail / resale thing. Fixed weeks can only be deposited in rci. Float/flex weeks can only be deposited in II. I owned a resale flex week at waterside and could only deposit in II.

yep-this. Spinnaker used to use RCI and switched to II 5+ years ago, but fixed weeks remained with RCI.

Oh bummer!!!! I was hoping to deposit my week into II. It's a spring break week which would probably be a good trader.
