I just read this. I also found out that you can get a credit for Early Bird fees.

If you don't have Southwest elite status, you do have the option of jumping to the front of the line by paying for EarlyBird Check-In, which costs $15-$25 per passenger each way. EarlyBird Check-In fees are non-refundable unless Southwest cancels the flight.

I was just thinking the other day that my CP for 2020 probably won't get used that all that much. Thank you SW for extending!
This will also allow for requalification for 2021-2022 years easier because you will basically have 6 months to earn the points instead of a mad rush early in the year.
Now......hope I will be back to flying then!!!!!

This is huge! We qualified for the companion pass in June of last year (CC promo kickstarted us with a bunch of points in Jan), so that Companion Pass was set to expire the end of this year. Now it looks like we will have through June of 2021 for this benefit. Thank you, Southwest!

I particularly like the extra 25,000 points towards Companion Pass status. Just got a Southwest credit card that came with 70,000 bonus points, so this should push me over the line to that this year even with the curtailed traveling.
