So our plans for 2009 are about set and I'm looking toward 2010. I think a southern US road trip is long overdue. We'll be heading east from Ca. and zooming past the southwest sights until we hit Santa Fe. Then aiming toward New Orleans as a major stop & then a swing back home.

My first question is: would late spring be a good travel time or would early fall be better? I have DRI for a Santa Fe booking and II for New Orleans. I could also use TPI and SFX but don't do RCI at all. So what should I request in New Orleans? We need a minimum 1 bedroom. Should we aim further east & if so what TS would we request? We don't need fancy. We haven't been in the region in over 20 years so suggestions for sight seeing are welcome. Forget amusement park stuff. Museums, history & outdoor beauty are our preferences. No kids so don't need stuff to keep them happy. We are retired so time is not an issue. Gas prices may be but we'll cross that bridge later. :D
