anyone played golf at Son Antem in Malorca looking to see if it is worth a trip there

We don't play but we do visit, is there anything specific you are interested in and I'll see if I can find out?

A fellow Club Son Antem Owner has recently posted that ”We have been coming to the resort and playing golf here for over 20 years. I am delighted to confirm that both courses are in fabulous condition and in particular the East Course. It is the best I have ever seen it. Congratulations to all the ground staff for all their hard work and efforts.”

Quick question. Do only ground level 2 bedroom townhouses have balconies or patios? Any on higher floors? Going there next September, trying to figure out what to request.

Quick question. Do only ground level 2 bedroom townhouses have balconies or patios? Any on higher floors? Going there next September, trying to figure out what to request.

They are townhouses, no apartments each unit is 2 floors, the townhouses are in blocks of 8 units. There are 2 layouts of 2-bed unit. One has the master downstairs and a covered patio and upstairs is a twin bedroom, shower room and large outside terrace. There is a covered patio area downstairs and a garden area private for the unit with charcoal BBQ. The other layout has the twin and master upstairs, plus the shower room, no balconies or terrace upstairs, but a slightly larger covered terrace downstairs and again the garden out back.

There are no view types at Son Antem, so you are free to request where you want. Below is the resort layout, when you are making a request its for the choice of 2-bed layout and location. Its a big site and can be 15 mins walk from one end to the other. Also consider the general orientation to the sun, if you have a preference for sun in the morning or evening. There's no guarantee your garden or terrace won't be shaded by trees, but if it matters to you one way or another, you can select the range of units that suit you. Don't think you can cut across the golf course to get the the Spa or hotel buildings, so if you are in unit 778, you have to walk all the way down to 724 to find the path to get through. The 300s and high 800s can feel very remote. If you want to be close to one of the pools by the villas, they are unheated, then ask for that too.

Thanks! Heading there over late August early September next year? Any advice. Weather looks nice that time of year.

That last week of Aug to 2nd week in Sept will still be school holidays so it will be busy and possibly very hot. There should be a decent amount going on at the resort and plenty to explore and do across the Island. The, unheated villa pools will be warm enough to swim in, so you don't always end up being crowded out. There are a couple of zero entry villa pools, so if that matters to you, add that to your request. Its a large enough property that you don't have to feel crowded.

There can be summer storms, but it rarely lasts all day, and is warm rain, but they close the outdoor pools when there is lightening risk, even if it doesn't look like there's a problem.

I think villa refurbishment should be done by then, so you should get a refreshed villa.

The local town of Lluchmajor is about 10 mins drive away and has an excellent range of restaurants and bars to eat at, so you don't have to be stuck with the restaurant options on site, which can be good or hit and miss, but are usually more expensive than locally. There are also supermarkets nearby, so you can stock up as you need. Its a big enough Island to provide more than enough to occupy you for even a couple of weeks.

Personally later in Sept is better. @bazzap can provide better info on the weather that time of year as they go around then. I tend to do early to mid Oct, and its plenty good enough for me to swim in the sea and sit out. The weather tends to cool off late Oct to early Nov to the point where unheated pools and the sea are too cool to swim

Late September is a great time to visit, certainly warm enough to sit by pools and swim. Even in February I've been known to lay in the sun when the weather is good although you might want to opt for the central heated pool if you want to swim.
