This Covid quarantine thing has finally broken me. I can't count the number of hours I've spent reading TUG posts and looking over unbelievably amazing, usually-impossible-to-get Interval and RCI exchanges. I've gone through the booking process countless times, right down to final payment, before wiping the page clean. What's a traveler to do when there's a lockdown?

I've been trying to make good use of all these months at home (we've cancelled several vacations so far) by cleaning and organizing the house for our move this year. One closet had a stash of toiletries that we brought home from vacations. We usually give them to the women's shelter, but these somehow got lost.

So let me tell you, the Marriott mango shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion were my escape from reality today!!!! For a few minutes in the shower, I could totally imagine I was in Maui or Kauai, and it was AWESOME! It's amazing that the sense of smell is so powerful. I have a few more to go before I move on to the white tea ones from Westin. (DH is a big fan of the Disney toiletries.) When I run out, I'm going to need a support group!

I also have collected toiletries from traveling
maybe I'll start using them to experience a "vacation" :)

I have a lot of samples in a box and we are using them but also would use them if we ever fly for a vacation again.

Before we moved we did end up throwing a lot out that were old or leaking or whatever. It was incredible how much we had saved Lol!
In fact just today I was looking for some hair conditioner but I guess I must have thrown those out. Probably because I normally use a shampoo and conditioner in one. But right now I am not and needed some conditioner. Figures.

When we stayed at the Fairmont in Quebec City I fell in love with Rose 31! Omg! I took home all the toiletries and still have a tiny bit of body lotion. I have been saving it which is crazy. I need to just use it up.

I tried to buy it on line but it is mucho dinero if you can even find it.

I put an assortment in a basket in our guest bathroom so visitors can use. I like the bottles that have the hotel name on them...not many do this anymore but it is fun to remember where we got them.

AWESOME! It's amazing that the sense of smell is so powerful.

Between my junior and senior years of high school I spent 6 weeks in Europe. The only perfume I took was Avon Roses Roses creme sachet. I was sick of it by the time I got home and didn't wear it for well over a year. I was standing in my dorm room at UCLA the next time I opened it. I was instantly transported to the school outside of Rome where we stayed. It was an amazing feeling!

Into my own shower for about 15 minutes with the Marriott timeshare toiletries I brought home from Hawaii! The mango scent was as close to a travel experience as I've been able to get since Covid 19.

@PamMo Funny me, I missed that you were doing imaginal travel! You mentioned moving this year. Where are you moving to? When are you moving? That is a big deal to move during Covid. Maybe I got confused again and thought you mentioned moving this year. A number of Tuggers are moving this year like @DaveNV. I think you all have courage to move during an uncertain time like now. We backed out of a home purchase in March of this year because of the uncertainly. Now we are rethinking our plans completely.

We're househunting in Sedona and the Reno area. It's been a bit of a challenge with Covid-19. We had hoped to move this summer because we have plans for rest of the year and 2021. Now, I just laugh at my calendar!

Great places to look and very different. We live on the California side about 90 minutes from Reno in a golf club community named Meadow Vista, near Auburn, CA. We love it here, much more affordable than SF Bay Area, lots of open space, looks like Tahoe but below the snow belt. Just an hour drive from Truckee. I have only been to Reno once but many Californians are moving to Reno to get out of high California taxes. People love Reno. Near Tahoe and lots to do. I have never been to Sedona but love the photos. What made you narrow your search down to Reno and Sedona? Coming from Missouri they both seem very different and I think the cost of living would be higher than Missouri. But Reno is still very affordable and the lack of taxes is the best in the country. I have debated moving to Reno when we retire but my DH loves Califonia.

We've happily lived all over the country, so picking a place right now is about spending more time with our kids/grandkids while they're young. We used to live in San Francisco, so yes, Reno's cost of living and taxes are very attractive to Californians. We own investment property in Reno, and see a LOT of Californians buying up homes. Sedona has been my favorite place for years. I think it would be a wonderful family retreat.

Surely you have the overflow in the garage!
Maybe the TUG bean-counters can place a value on each of those items, convert that to Rewards Points per item,
and then see if you have enough for a FREE NIGHT. ;)
