Or maybe it was that Dragon or Dinosaur ride at Legoland...

Anyhow, I could use some advice/help. I am now the owner of a resale SDO EOY 2BD LO. The sale came with two banked II weeks that the owner and II agreed to transfer over. I called up II last week to set up a new non-SVN account after SVO acknowledged me as the owner of the SDO week. In the notes for the previous owner's account were instructions to transfer the weeks to me.

The II rep said that in the meantime (waiting for my account to open), I could use the previous owner's account to request a week or two, since these banked weeks expire in January. So I gave II my AMEX and put in requests for various weeks/resorts. Today I called II to see if my new account was ready to go. They said yes, but that I would need to keep searching out of the old account since the weeks were expiring so soon (5 months?). I told her that I was confused since I thought that they could transfer the weeks to me after my new account was established. She said it was easier for me to access both accounts than to transfer the weeks. Then she told me that my requests I put in last week haven't started yet since they needed my AMEX code (which I gave them last week).

Sigh. I really do have a headache. Maybe I should just do nothing until I get home. I just wanted to log into II and look around and see what the deposits would pull. Now it looks like I may have to log into the other owner's account and do this. It makes no sense to me  .

Yeah, easier for THEM! Sounds like BS to me. I'd call and ask for a supervisor, that is just ridiculous!

The membership rep said that it takes a lot of paperwork to transfer the weeks and it isn't easy :( . Now she said not to start my searches using the old owner's account, and to wait until the weeks get transferred, *if* she can get them transferred. Last week when I paid them $219, she said it would be easy.

Oh, and when she put in my cell phone number, it brought up over 7 accounts, of which just two are actually tied to me (the old owner and my new non-SVN account; my other SVN II accounts are linked to another number). I'd never given II my cell phone number until last week (and only because I was going on vacation), and suddenly it is linked to other people in other states! Yikes! Think of all the weird exchanges I could have confirmed for other people  !

I guess I will call back tomorrow, but the whole thing makes me nervous. I will try to enjoy the rest of today and make a pitcher of margaritas for one :D .

While we're on II questions....

Does anyone know if II allows you to add a 2nd unit to your account, or do you have to pay a fee? I am closing on my 2nd SBP and would really prefer not to pay another fee (or renew for a million more years). Any chance II will let me just add it since it's at a resort already in my account?

Yes, we did that with our resales.

Do you know how they do this? Do you just ask to have the accounts combined?

When we bought our second Kierland, initially they gave us two accounts. We called them and asked them to combine the accounts and they did. It only took a day, if I recall.

I have heard that II charges a fee to add the new resort to your II account. Or, you can extend membership for a year and add it that way.

I was sold a three-year account with unlimited adding of weeks. I am anticipating adding 1-2 more weeks, so that's why I decided to do it this way. One year was $99, and if it's $89 to add a week/extra year, that would be something like 99 +89 +89 for three years that way, versus $219 for three years the way I bought it. Of course, it could just be a clever sales tactic. She tried to sell me Gold for just $358 for three years.....

Maybe because I am taking weeks from a SVN-II account and putting them into a non-SVN-II account, it is trickier? Perhaps SVO has guards surrounding the corporate SVN-II accounts?

It is ridiculous. What is happening is that II is telling you that they would have to start the search over again on the new account and they are recommending to keep the search on the previous owners account.

Absolutely get a supervisor involved. On the other hand....if you you are happy with the deal that you got for the ownership, think of the banked weeks as a bonus.

She is lying to you

I agree - especially since the other owner is not the most cooperative

This is a very good idea..... .... it will all work out.....you have waited this long, another week will not make a difference.

Yes, sunshine and margaritas are a nice combination :) .

I didn't even call II today. I will just wait until after our vacation to deal with it. One more day at the beach, then by Monday I will see what is up with my II account. Thanks for the advice, everyone :hi: .
