Which exchange platform ?
Where / who is your information sourced ?

I have RCI weeks - the pre March 9 resort fees listed are the RCI / Vidanta (Nuevo Vallarta) added cost for all brands at NV . The Interval Int. / Vidanta resort fee structure is identical .

I just looked on RCI and there is no updated (yet) shown .
as of Sat March 7.

To date : Vidanta resort fees have been by resort location and unit size / not brand .
Is the change for Grand Luxxe only - or all brands ?

I wonder, with the airline and vacation travel industries tanking due to Corona virus, how long those higher rates will last?

I have noticed the Vidanta Resorts have been steadily raising their resort fees. Last year I exchanged into a 1 bdrm at the Grande Luxxe Nuevo Vallarta. Health issues a month before our reservation necessitated I cancel that exchange. I took a replacement week I haven't used yet. After hearing about yet another resort fee increase, the closing of the one Pool at the resort complex in Nuevo Vallarta and the difficulty getting in, out and around the resort due to its' size, now I am thinking I won't bother to exchange into any of the Grande Luxxe properties. I know the resort and the Grand Luxxe units in Nuevo Vallarta are fabulous but are they really worth all the up charges?? Between giving up my home resort, the Vidanta resort fees and from what I've heard the high cost of on resort dining, I am beginning to wonder if I can't get as good a vacation experience by saving my exchange for something else and/or booking a non timeshare vacation package at a good AI resort. Comments?? Opinions??

The place is amazing but the resort fee is starting to make the bargain look questionable. Glad I got under the deadline for a 3 BR in Oct 2021

Ouch! I see those new fees listed on Interval exchanges for Grand Luxxe, Grand Bliss, and Grand Mayan, Mayan Palace - looks like all the units in Nuevo Vallarta.

I took the resorts off my "search just for fun list" when they went up to $630 for the 2BR and larger units awhile ago. This higher fee is ridiculous.

We have really grown to love AI vacations. We have not gone to a Vidanta resort since they started imposing the resort fees and will definitely never return now. We particularly like booking AI through members who own at Palace and Hard Rock Resorts, food is outstanding, top shelf liquor, nightly entertainment, excursions included for very nominal service fee, airport transportation included, beautiful rooms and very often kids included free - we feel we get fantastic values. Depending on the time of year you book it can cost around $2k and up for a week which sounds $$$, but when you consider the cost of the rci exchange fee, the cost of the maintenance fee of the unit you exchange, the stupid daily resort fee, the outrageously priced restaurants, you can end up with quite a bit invested in a Vidanta vacation and STILL have to pay for all your food, drinks and extras. RCI sometimes runs BOGO weeks at the Hard Rocks, and some gal pals and I took advantage of the last one to book a trip to Los Cabos later this year. I'm heading to The Grand at Moon Palace on Sunday with my mom for a mother-daughter trip. Can't wait!
