Wyndham has cancelled reservations through Oct 6th. Anyone know when they started? My inlaws gifted a friend a week but he couldn't make it because of the hurricane. I just wondered if it was in, or partially in, what they were cancelling. Thanks for any insights.

They are just west of the hardest hit areas. Didn't hear that any of Pigeon Forge, Seiverville , or Gatlingburg towns were impacted, so not sure what is up. Unless they are offering up emergency housing for something.

I wouldn't be surprised if they cancelled some reservations at the Sevierville resorts to move people from Sapphire Valley and Lake Lure which the areas are basically destroyed. I don't have any insider info, but both resorts, the Wyndham units are kind of high up, so, I think should have have been affected by flooding, but the areas are completely devastated. Roads in and out are in some cases washed out.

I have friends that live in Scaly Mountain, NC, which is West of Sapphire Valley and the only road in and out of their community (US64, the same road which goes through Sapphire Valley) was washed out in both directions East and West of them. AND they lost power.

Roads and power infrastructure in the area are completely devastated, it's a mess. If you have not seen the devastation in Asheville and surrounding communities, it's hearbreaking.

Although most of the tourists areas Dollywood ect are not a problem the surrounding areas are bad. There was been quite a discussion yesterday on the impact it has on hospitality workers that live in the surrounding communities.

Here in Nashville it’s been all over the local news. While the numbers are no where near Florida it’s still had an impact.

As above, it’s possible the resort rooms are needed to house evacuees from the devastated areas as well as relief workers - FEMA has hundreds of workers there already as well as on the way. Hospitality workers’ lives have been turned upside down. IOW, I wouldn’t plan to visit for several months.

It’s really a tough call-
there are a lot of hospitality workers on social asking people that can get to locations safely to come. They depend on tips ect…

For me I am thankfully unaffected and have a safe straight shot up.

When Michael hit the Panama City area, I believe employees (and family) were provided housing at the resort. Even with the resort in decent shape, the employees needed time off to take care of their homes that were affected.

That gives me a whole new perspective on Club Wyndam.
